We Live in a Barn

Named after our adventure-seeking son (note the snow board mounted above the closet).

OUR FAVORITE FEATURE – During the interior construction of our home, my husband remembered that he had some cedar trees and our son was quick to request cedar-lined closets for his room.

NOTABLE FEATURE – At some point our time to build came to an end (my husband’s vacation time ended). Only 3 of 5 bents were in place, so we had to call a timber framing company from Kentucky to finish the process. On their departure we had them “autograph” a beam in this bedroom, a signature feature notable to timber framers.

FUN FACT – This bedroom is right below the kitchen, so on occasion Mom would lean into the heat duct in the kitchen floor and call into the duct if she needed to get our son’s attention. On the same note, operating the coffee grinder in the pantry early in the morning was not appreciated by our son.
